But even if he did give reinstatement a second thought -- like, um, one other recently unretired superstar -- the Giants defensive linemen proved he left the team in good hands.

Strahan's gone, but Pierce takes command

Antonio Pierce said it was a funny question. But he wasn't necessarily laughing. The middle linebacker was asked if the Giants' defense, now missing retired end Michael Strahan, lacks leadership. It's been a common question the past few weeks, but Pierce had a new answer for it Friday.
